We just adopted two kitties from Nile Valley Egyptian Foundation. The founder of the organization has contacted us each day to check in to see how the adoption and adjustment are going. She is helpful, friendly, and responsible. I highly recommend NVE Foundation.
Who are we?
Native Mau Cats of Egypt are the oldest known descendants of Egyptian domesticated cats (which have provided a partial foundation for the recent Egyptian Mau cat breed), and they are one of only a few naturally-occurring, small, spotted cats in the world.
Find out who we are and what we do
Nile Valley Egyptian Foundation is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3), not-for-profit, no-kill and life-enhancing cat rescue group located in the United States of America. The purpose (NVE Cats) is to physically rescue, assist non-government organizations (NGOs), and, through education, advocate for the endangered native Egyptian Mau, as well as for the Nile Valley Egyptian Cats.
NVE Cats diligently works to find Forever Homes for these homeless, abandoned, and abused felines rescued from the cruel streets of Egypt, working hard to find responsible and loving Pet Parents/Guardians in the U.S. Our rescue organization in the U.S.A cares for abandoned, stray, abused, disabled, and elder cats, in a cage-free/home setting, no-kill environment. We will offer for adoption any cat, and offer permanent sanctuary to unadoptable cats
What People Say
What an amazing experience! Cheryl worked with me to adopt the perfect cat for our family. Our Shirazi Mau has only been in America for 3 days but has adapted beautifully and is such a love. His foster mom and I have been in constant contact, and she loves him like her own. This charity is dedicated to raising awareness and rescuing the street cats of Egypt. If you’re interested in rescuing an exotic breed, I would highly recommend contacting Nile Valley Egyptian Foundation.

Two weeks ago my family and I adopted two beautiful litter mates from Nile Valley, and could not be more thrilled. After an arduous journey to America, we are amazed at how quickly the pair have adjusted. They are so affectionate and entertaining! Cheryl, the foster mom in Egypt and I have kept in constant contact. Anyone who wishes for a special breed, one that behaves like a golden retriever in a cat suit, should take the leap of faith that it will be a match made in heaven!

What an amazing organization! Cheryl, Amina, and Sara helped us to bring two wonderful cats into our family and made the whole process so fantastic. I feel so lucky to add these beautiful boys to our family and can’t recommend this group highly enough. A completely wonderful experience for our family and 2 gorgeous, loving kitties.
Adopted our two kitties from here. Such a good organization. You can bring to your home a lovely Mau or Persian and get to save a life at the same time.
Thank you Nile Valley Foundation for finding a beautiful home for the cat, pixie, that I rescued!! You never gave up on him and went the extra distance to find him the loving home he deserves then took care of all his travelling needs and raised the money to send him to the States!! Nile Valley Foundation donot just help Persian cats, they help all cats that need them!! It was important for me to be able to see pictures of pixie in his new home and check on his wellbeing so they made sure I can contact his new adoptors and see pictures of him regularly! I was honestly giving up on finding him a new home but Nile Valley Foundation never gave up on him!!! Thank you so much for all your hardwork and kindness!! You are all amazing angels!!
